Legal
Privacy — HSH Studios.
HSH Studios is where you listen to our audiobooks and watch our shows. You can use it without an account. If you make one, we keep your name and email address as your sign-in provider gives them to us, what you own, and where you are in each book and show — so your library follows you from phone to tablet to browser. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and we sell and share nothing.

Who publishes this app
We trade as Haunted Space Hotel Studios, which is the developer name printed under our apps on Google Play. It is a registered fictitious business name of Fossa Tracks, Inc., a California corporation — the same corporation that is the seller of record for our apps on Apple's App Store, and the legal entity behind every app, page and purchase named here. The brand on the box and the company on either store listing are the same people.

Which app this policy covers
This page covers one app: HSH Studios on Google Play and on Apple's App Store (iPhone and iPad), and the same service in a web browser at hauntedspacehotel.com/listen and /watch. Our games are covered separately — most of them at privacy for our mobile games — and this website at our main privacy policy.

The short version
Without an account
You can browse and play everything that is free.
The app asks our server for the catalogue and fetches the files you play or download. That needs nothing about you; like every internet service, our server sees the connection itself (see “Server logs”).
With an account
Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. Nothing else, and no password.
We keep your name and email from that sign-in, what you own, and where you are in each item — so it is the same on every device you sign in on. Delete the account and all of it goes.
What we collect, and why
1 · Your account — only if you make one
You sign in with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. We never see, set or store a password. From the provider you choose we receive:
- Your name — as that provider gives it to us.
- Your email address — as that provider gives it to us. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your own, and that is the only address we ever have.
- An identifier for your account at that provider, so the next sign-in reaches the same account.
We use these to sign you in and to write to you about your account or a purchase if we have to. We do not add you to a mailing list because you made an account, and we do not use your email address for advertising.
2 · What your account owns, and where you are in it
To make your library the same on every device, our server keeps, against your account:
- What you own — each audiobook or show you have bought or been given, and where it came from: the App Store, Google Play, our web shop, or a Kickstarter reward.
- Where you are in each item — your reading or listening position, or where you stopped watching, and when that was last updated, so you can pick up on another device where you left off.
Without an account none of this leaves your device: positions and downloads are kept on the device only.
3 · Purchases
Some books and shows are free and some are paid. We never see your card details.
- In the app, a purchase is made through Apple's In-App Purchase on iPhone and iPad, or Google Play Billing on Android, and is handled entirely by that store. The store gives the app a receipt for the purchase; the app sends that receipt to our server, which checks it with Apple or Google and records what you bought against your account. We receive the receipt, not your name, card or store account. Payment is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
- On the web, a purchase is made through our shop, which runs on Shopify. Shopify handles the checkout and the payment details under Shopify's privacy policy; we receive the order (what was bought and the email address it was bought with) so we can add it to your account.
- Kickstarter rewards arrive as a code, which you redeem in the app or on the web; we record the redemption against your account.
4 · Server logs
Our server, and the content-delivery service in front of it, see each request's IP address and time, as every website does. We keep these logs briefly, for security and to stop abuse — not to build a picture of anyone — and then they are deleted.
We also count how many times each book or show is downloaded. That is a number per item, not a record of who downloaded it, and it is not tied to you or your account.
On the web: one cookie
In a browser at /listen and /watch, signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
What we do not collect
This app does not ask for, access, collect or send us:
- Passwords
- Phone numbers or postal addresses
- Location of any kind, precise or approximate
- Contacts, calendar, photos, files, microphone or camera
- Advertising IDs or any cross-app tracking identifier
- Usage analytics, telemetry, heat maps or session recordings
There is no advertising in this app, no third-party analytics and no tracking SDK of any kind. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Where it is kept
- Our server — the account, what it owns and the positions are kept on our own server, which we run on DigitalOcean.
- The book and show files are stored on Cloudflare R2 and delivered through Cloudflare. Those files are our media, not information about you.
- On your device — the files you download, your positions and your sign-in, in the app's own private storage, which no other app can read. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Third parties
- Google — if you use Sign in with Google, and for purchases and distribution on Google Play, under the Google Privacy Policy.
- Apple — if you use Sign in with Apple, and for purchases and distribution on the App Store, under Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Shopify — only for purchases in our web shop, under Shopify's privacy policy.
- Kickstarter — only if you backed us there; Kickstarter handles the pledge under its own policy, and we receive the backer reward you redeem.
- DigitalOcean — hosts our server, and processes what is on it only on our behalf.
- Cloudflare — stores and delivers the media files and sits in front of our server, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Google Play and App Store Connect also give us aggregate, anonymised statistics — install counts, ratings, anonymous crash reports. We cannot identify anyone from them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app, from the account screen, or by writing to [email protected] from the address you signed in with. Deleting it removes your name, email address, sign-in identifier, the record of what you own and your positions from our server. Store receipts and shop orders that the law requires us to keep for tax and accounting are kept only for as long as it requires, and are not used for anything else. Purchases are tied to the account, so a deleted account cannot be restored; your store or shop purchase history at Apple, Google or Shopify is theirs and is not affected.
If you used Sign in with Apple, you can also stop using it with this app in your Apple ID settings; Sign in with Google can be removed in your Google Account's security settings.
Your rights
Data-protection law gives you the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. Write to us and we will do it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your account data because you asked us to provide the service (your account and library), and server logs because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Children
HSH Studios is intended for people aged 13 and over, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly hold an account for anyone under 13; if you believe we do, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes what it does with data, we will update this page and the date at the top before that version ships, and say plainly what changed.
